The new Brazilian Anti-Corruption Law (Federal Law No. 12.486/2013), changes the liability for fraud, bribery and corrupt practices in general, from the individual involved to the organization. Regardless of intent, the law prosecutes the company, with possibility of penalties, fines and public exposure. The legislation provides that sentences will be reduced for companies with compliance systems and established programs that prevent and mitigate corruption risks, ensuring corporate security.

CIFAL Curitiba and the Social Service of Industry (SESI) have been providing training on this issue since 2013 through opportunities for dialogue and learning such as the 2013 International Forum on Transparency and Competitiveness that brought together experts from around the world to discuss the role of business in fighting corruption. Additionally, on April 15 this year, the workshop “Compliance Systems” brought together companies to share experiences and challenges, and to better understand how to implement and operate anti-corruption practices.

The seminar aims to achieve the following:

  • Discuss the challenges and opportunities for companies in implementing Compliance Systems;
  • Identify the critical aspects of Compliance Systems and have an open discussion about such aspects;
  • Provide answers to participants regarding implementation of Compliance Systems, providing a form of "collective consultancy".

At the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the main issues when implementing Compliance programs;
  • Identify possible solutions for problems faced by companies regarding compliance.

This event consists of the following sessions:

  • Provocative presentations
  • Open discussions including questions and answers
  • Sessions to exchange ideas and information
  • Practical application and exercises on the new Anti-corruption Law

Small and medium industries, managers and technicians in the areas of Auditing, Legal department and/or Internal controls.
