CIFAL Durban - Urban Strategic Planning Master Class
New Leadership, new goals, vision and strategy is needed for municipalities. Considering the challenges and opportunites for local administrations, they need to be ready for change and for transformation in the next five years.
The Urban Strategic Planning Master Class aims to provide practitioners, urban planners involved in strategic planning of municipalities and those involved in the planning for municipalities with the knowledge and tools to develop integrated development plans.
At the end of the three-day workshop, participants will be able to:
- Develop a Built Environment Performance Plan (BEPP)
- Identify national and international priorities to be considered when developing KPI's and projects
- Describe the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and integrate them into local development plans
- Strategically craft score cards to support annual audit outcomes
The Master Class is composed of six modules that address the following topics:
- Budget performance
- Long-term municipal planning, performance, monitoring and evaluation
- Sustainable Development Goals
- Built Environment Performance Plan (BEEP)
- SDBIP and scorecards
- KPIs and project management
The Master Class sessions are delivered by experienced practitioners from local, national and provincial governments who will showcase in a dynamic way real success of municipal strategic planning.
