Making Way for Scotland’s Hydrogen Economy conference is a practical response to the imperative for action to address climate change. Building on the success of Scotland’s Hydrogen Future conference in 2009 the event will bring together a unique group of key stakeholders from government, industry and the wider public sector to explore ways to accelerate the commercialisation of emerging hydrogen technologies and support the technical, operational, social and economic transition to hydrogen energy.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear presentations from the forefront of hydrogen development and demonstrations across Europe. They will also be able to participate in facilitated networking and information sharing sessions with key national and international players from manufacturers, suppliers, customers, local government and NGOs. And also learn how to dispose of waste, reduce landfill and create green hydrogen to power industry, vehicles and homes.

The conference will be a mix of traditional lecture style presentations and small group discussions where delegates can discuss issues important to their fields. The conference is aiming to clarify a clear vision for hydrogen and fuel cell development and implementation in Scotland/UK/Europe and to devise ways to help hydrogen technology meet Scotland’s targets for energy from renewable, and for emissions reductions, to 2020 and beyond. It will also be discussed how Scotland could become a market leader. Importantly the conference is designed to keep information flowing within the rapid pace of change in hydrogen and fuel cell technology and to identify implementation plans and address expectations of large players.

Policymakers, Government officials and Local Authorities, Energy Officers, Sustainable Development Officers, Planning and Business Development Managers, OEMS and members of their supply chains, Companies selling Hydrogen related products, fleet managers and all potential customers of hydrogen products, academics and researchers.
