In the last decades Cognitive Neuroscience has provided new theoretical and practical frameworks about the processes related to the brain and cognition. From the Cognitive Neuroscience, new approaches to many of the health and social problems have emerged. Recent research is maximizing interventions and contributing to develop new knowledge to the management of problems. More specifically, Cognitive Neuroscience can be applied to the field of forensic science to address key issues.

 

The objectives of the course include:

  • Train professionals of Law, Health and Penitentiary in Forensic Cognitive Neuroscience through the acquisition of tools, strategies, and skills for the management of problems that arise in daily practice.
  • Providing professionals with a scientific background in the areas of Forensic Cognitive Neuroscience.
  • Raise awareness about Forensic Cognitive Neuroscience, both at the National and International level.
  • Train legal, health and prison professionals on the different psychopathological modalities linked to crime commissions, the new forms of expert evaluation and the current discussion about Cognitive Neuroscience and the concept of imputability.   

Targeted audience includes healthcare professionals, doctors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, professionals of justice,  judges, lawyers, prosecutors, prison guards, and practitioners.
