The Government of Rwanda instigated various measures following their first confirmed COVID-19 case on 14 March 2020. In order to improve critical care and prevent mortality, particularly among patients with pre-existing non-communicable diseases, The Defeat-NCD Partnership is working with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre to organise a training and knowledge-sharing event.

The workshop aims to facilitate the exchange of information between 12 internationally renowned health professionals and over 270 clinicians from Rwanda on treatment guidelines and protocols, emerging trends, and the latest research.

The senior practitioners will provide practical insights from their own experiences mitigating the direct and indirect effects of COVID-19 in France, India, Switzerland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
