NAP-Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) - MENA Regional Training Workshop on National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Guideline
The National Adaptation Programme Global Support Programme organized a training workshop for MENA countries as part of the support to countries to advance their National Adaptation Plans (NAP) processes. The workshop was attended by more than 30 policy-makers from Environment, Planning and Finance Ministries from 13 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region - supported by more than 25 representatives from UN agencies and other development partners.
The objectives of the training workshop were to: (i) improve the understanding of the NAPs process; (ii) take stock of the existing guidance and tools & methods relevant to the NAPs so as to assist countries develop roadmaps/ strategies for their NAPs; (iii) take stock of what countries are doing on advancing their respective NAP processes and exchange lessons learnt and experiences; and, (vi) exchange information on the mechanisms and options for supporting NAPs. The workshop also highlighted support available through the NAP-GSP and partners to support countries in advancing their NAP processes.
