Nature, Culture and the Youth
Due to rapid globalization, citizens of each nation are interconnected with each other more than any time before. We are citizens of respective nations, but also global citizens who face the same challenges of the world.
While understanding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it is expected that the youth of Korea understands the significance of sustainable community and the responsibility of the youth. By acknowledgement of responsibility of the youth, we can put the efforts to build sustainable world along with each other.
In this sense, the event will offer lectures and field visits for participants to understand the relations between sustainable community and responsibility of the youth in terms of contributing to advance the SDGs. This event will help Korean university students to enhance their understanding on SDGs and their responsibilities.
The capacity building workshop aims to increase awareness on the SDGs and sustainable community development by focusing on responsibility of the youth to contribute to the society and bring integrated and sustainable society.
AT the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the sustainable development goals
- Identify key challenges, recognize and apply practical solutions to advance sustainable development in their local community
- Pinpoit best practices and lessons learned to address sustainable community development objectives and to advance the SDGs
The workshop includes the following sessions:
- Session 1: Future of Korea and the role of youth as global citizens
- Session 2: Sustainable community development and responsibility of the youth
- Session 3: Understanding of culture and nature in Jeju for sustainable development
The event will be delivered through:
- Lecture by experts
- Field visits to local community business organizations in Jeju
The targeted audience includes university students from Korea.
