QCPR Training Series 2016 in preparation for the 2016 General Assembly Module 3
The changing global development landscape and the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development present both challenges and opportunities for the UN development system to translate ambitions into results on the ground. The 2016-2020 QCPR will be the tool to guide, assess and monitor UN operational activities for development and ensure a UN development system that is fit to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals. The 2016 Secretary-General’s report on QCPR aims to both assess progress in implementation of the 2012 QCPR resolution and point the way for a strategic and focused QCPR to be adopted in 2016.
This briefing establishes UN system-wide policy orientation for development cooperation and country-level modalities of the UN system in response to the evolving international development cooperation environment.
This module will discuss current trends, the core vs. non-core challenges, the possible opportunities to ensure adequate, predictable and flexible funding to deliver on the 2030 Development Agenda, and the implications of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, rooting the briefing in the challenges posed by fast- changing and diverse needs and priorities on the ground.
