The changing global development landscape and the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development present both challenges and opportunities for the UN development system to translate ambitions into results on the ground. The 2016-2020 QCPR will be the tool to guide, assess and monitor UN operational activities for development and ensure a UN development system that is fit to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals. The 2016 Secretary-General’s report on QCPR aims to both assess progress in implementation of the 2012 QCPR resolution and point the way for a strategic and focused QCPR to be adopted in 2016.

This briefing establishes UN system-wide policy orientation for development cooperation and country-level modalities of the UN system in response to the evolving international development cooperation environment.

This briefing will be for General Assembly Second Committee and delegates who arrived over the summer and were unable to attend previous briefings. This last module will summarize the key elements of previous modules, the key messages of the SG’s report on QCPR, explain the QCPR process and discuss ideas on the potential of the QCPR.
