Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in collaboration with consortium partners WASCAL, WRI, FUTA, and HKV developed the Regional Technical Webinar Series for ECOWAS members countries, a continuation of the capacity development activities implemented in the context of the Building Disaster resilience in Sub Saharan Africa program, an initiative of the ACP Group of States, financed by the European Union and implemented by the World Bank.

The technical webinar series organization, supported by ECOWAS and AGRHYMET,  aim to demonstrate best practices, applications, and tools for flood forecasting and flood risk management with an emphasis on:

- Flood early warning practices and country-specific geospatial open-source data preparation and analysis (Module 1)

- Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) for flood impact analysis (Module 2)

- Hydrological and hydraulic modelling for the flood forecasting workflows (Module 3)

Training is for all officials coming from ECOWAS member states.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a UNITAR certificate.
