Launching, managing and supporting a NAP process are complex tasks that need input and capacities from a broad range of stakeholders. In response to the need for capacity building in this field, the NAP country-level training has been developed providing a general under-standing of the conceptual approach of NAPs and the NAP techni¬cal guidelines produced by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG).

The training of trainers will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on 13-18th June 2016 and will be funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This ToT follows an initial ToT organized in April 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. Its aim is to assist in providing a pool of trainers that can be deployed to provide training as a part of capacity development activities to support countries to advance NAP processes at country level.

The overall learning objectives for a ToT include the following:
•    Gain a thorough understanding of the processes and systematic steps for successful adaptation planning at national and partially at sector level;
•    Enhance knowledge and skills to assist developing countries in launching and implementing their NAP process;
•    Build training capacities according to the Harvard Case training method and be able to run a training course according to modern participant-centred adult learning.
