The One UN Training Service Platform on Climate Change (UN CC:Learn) is a partnership of 33 multilateral organizations which supports Member States, UN agencies and other development partners in designing and implementing results-oriented and sustainable learning to address climate change.

A UN CC:Learn Steering Group Meeting will take place from 23-24 October 2012 in Geneva, Switzerland. The Steering Group includes CEB, EMG, FAO, GEF Secretariat, IDB, IFAD, ILO, ITU, OCHA, UNAIDS, UNDP, UNECA, UNEP, UNESCAP, UNESCO, UNESCWA, UNFCCC, UNFPA, UNHABITAT, UNICEF, UNIDO, UNISDR, UNITAR, UNSSC, UN WOMEN, UNWTO, UPU, UNU, WFP, WHO, WMO, the World Bank, WTO, as well as donors.

UN CC:Learn is included in the “One UN Climate Action Framework” of the UN Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) through its capacity development group co-convened by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The Secretariat of UN CC:Learn is provided by UNITAR.

Main objectives inculde:

  • Discuss implementation of the 5 UN CC:Learn Pilot Projects to Strengthen Human Resources, Learning and Skills Development to Address Climate Change in Benin, Dominican Republic, Indoensia, Malawi and Uganda;
  • Advance the development of joint training materials;
  • Discuss next steps in preparation of the COP 18/CMP 8 of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), 26 November-7 December 2012 in Doha, Qatar.
