UNFCCC Training on Meeting Management and Presentation Skills
(UNFCCC) in a strategy to enhance the skills of staff , undertook an assessment of training needs that were then elaborated in a training programme that listed training needs in areas such as; effective communication, presentation skills and meeting management.
Within this context and as part of the long term learning programme, UNITAR was requested to prepare and deliver training to the staff to address presentation and meeting management skills.
Enhance the skills of the staff in the effective delivery of presentations and in the effective management of meetings by focusing on how to;
- set clear objectives for a presentation, analyze the needs, concerns and expectations of the audience.
- select appropriate material for presentations, increase impact and authority through the effective use of body language, voice and assertive language, the dos and don’ts of using visual aids.
- deliver training covering notions of effective meeting management such as; developing agenda's, opening meetings, time management, running and concluding meetings ; and
- prepare, avoid or overcome common hurdles and pitfalls when managing meetings and when delivering interventions.
At the end of the training participants will be expected to know how to;

Presentation Skills

- effective use of visual aids.
The training will be delivered over two days and the main mode of delivery is by power point presentation to introduce participants to the theory on how to deliver effective presentations and manage meetings.
Hands on exercises and practical exercises will also be an important part of the training to involve participants and allow participants put into practice the theory.
Finally a resource book to serve as a guide and useful resource will be distributed to all participants.
