Workshop on Crisis Management
UNITAR and the Ambassador Partnership LLP jointly organized a workshop on Crisis Management in London in July 2019 for participants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is one of a series of workshops organized each year, as part of a long-standing agreement between UNITAR and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Participants will receive training in topics such as: Organisation for different types of crises, such as natural disasters, terrorism, scandal, policy failure, and technical breakdown. Participants will also learn about internal and external communications, the psychology of crises and strategies to cope, preventing crise, and post-crisis management.
By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
- Confidently handle and cope with different types of crisis
- Understand how to deal with written and oral communication in a crisis
- Handle the media in a crisis situation
The workshop is divided into 5 days:
Day 1: What's Different/Consular Crisis
Day 2: Natural Disasters & Terrorism
Day 3: Other Partners/Reputation & The Media
Day 4: Communication Skills & Interviews
Day 5: Final Roleplay
Participants will be engaged in a series of lectures, presentations and group assessment activities.
Participants from the Ministry of the Foreigh Affairs of Saudi Arabia and from the Permanent Mission in Geneva.
