Established in 1965, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is the principle training arm of the United Nations, working in every region of the world with the mission to develop capacities, enhance global decision-making and support country and regional-level actions for shaping a better future.
To sustain these strategic priorities, UNITAR constantly innovates to remain a centre of excellence when it comes to knowledge transfer, adult learning methodologies and executive training in order to enhance performance of decision-makers in multilateral circles.
At the heart of UNITAR, the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP) is a provides executive training in addressing global and strategic challenges for professionals within the public and private sector.
With over 50 years of experience, UNITAR delivers more than 500 training activities per year, reaching out to 41,000 professionals worldwide.
Participants will have a broad overview of the key aspects determining the success of a training session and the establishment of an optimal learning environment. Participants will also become familiar with training methods and techniques for adults learning and will engage in scenario-based exercises, simulation and role playing.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
* Develop, structure and draft effective and persuasive presentations;
* Recognize and take into account personal learning styles and adapt their presentations to different target audiences;
* Apply design techniques of a training and distinguish its various forms and styles.
With this workshop UNITAR’s Multilateral Diplomacy Programme seeks to strengthen individual capacity of trainers.
The objective is to enable participants to provide internal training for their colleagues, as well as develop external partnerships with other actors in the field of training.
This workshop will focus on deepening training techniques and methods, on principles for professional executive education, as well as on the implementation of training sessions.
Through this workshop, UNITAR intends to build and strengthen participants’ skills and techniques for future training sessions organized by the participants of the workshop
This course is open to:
Members of Permanent Missions accredited to the United Nations Office at Geneva;
Delegates of Ministries of Foreign Affairs and other government officials;
Representatives of international, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and Diplomatic academies;
Senior managers from the private sector are equally invited to benefit from this workshop.
The workshop will take place from 09:00-12:30 and 13:30-17:00 on 3-7 April 2016, at the Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI), and will include multiple visits to some of the biggest international organizations in Geneva.
