The transition to a green economy in Mongolia is creating unprecedented needs and opportunities for learning and skills development. Ultimately, it is through knowledgeable and skilled people that action to advance a green transformation is designed and implemented. Addressing these learning challenges will not be possible without the full engagement and contribution of national education and training institutions. PAGE is responding to the request of MEGD to include green economy awareness raising and learning as an initial work stream in the PAGE work programme, by offering support for a national green economy learning strategy in Mongolia which is developed through national institutions. To engage national institutions in the process and to ensure that relevant activities contribute to ongoing effort in the area of sustainable development education, a planning meeting with interested education and training institutions is taking place on 14 May 2014 in the morning. It will bring together about 25 participants from national learning institutions, government and PAGE partners.

Event Objectives

The overall goal of the meeting is to initiate a process in Mongolia to take a strategic approach to awareness raising and learning for a green transformation and to discuss the development of national green economy learning strategy: Specific meeting objectives include the following:
