MDP Team

Rabih El-Haddad is the Manager of the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). His work includes developing and delivering training on the United Nations system with a focus on the multilateral working environment at Geneva. Mr. Haddad has been monitoring United Nations reform efforts, and is also closely involved in the Institute’s training in areas related to the protection of human rights and the work of the Human Rights Council. He holds post graduate degrees from the Universities of Geneva and Lausanne in political science and European and International Economic Law.

Emily Fraser is a Specialist at the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), working in the field of Climate Change and Environmental Diplomacy. Her work includes the development and delivery of training in the field of Climate Change Diplomacy with a focus on the multilateral policy making and negotiation processes, particularly under the UNFCCC.

Patricia Martín de Briones is a Consultant at the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). She is in charge of the preparation and implementation of the e-Learning curricula, especially in the fields of multilateral diplomacy, United Nations System, skills development and environmental diplomacy. She was also the focal point for a great number of training activities aimed at the diplomatic community in Geneva on leadership, negotiation skills and diplomatic protocol. She is also a member of the Communication Working Group at UNITAR.

Evelyne De Mevius focuses primarily on Core Diplomatic Training for MDP. Evelyne holds a Masters degree in Philosophy and a Postmasters degree in European Studies from the Free University of Brussels. She has recently been working for the Boghossian Foundation in Brussels as a specialist of the Armenian Question. She is highly interested in multilateral diplomacy and in memory related conflict issues.

Kirsten Bjoedstrup Jensen is working with the development and delivery of face to face courses. She is passionate about gender issues and capacity building and is responsible for new initiatives to empower women in diplomacy. Kirsten holds a Master’s degree in Educational Studies and Cultural Encounters. She has worked as a facilitator at ActionAid’s Global Platform training centre in Kenya, and most recently as an International Campaign Officer for The Danish Family Planning Association in Copenhagen.

Jennifer Hahn has been working for UNITAR since September 2012. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Slavonic Studies and Economics and the Erasmus Mundus master’s degree “Crossways in European Humanities“ from the University of St Andrews, the University of Perpignan and the University of Tübingen. Jennifer is responsible for UNITAR's core diplomatic training (CDT) and assists with the organisation and delivery of customized training courses.

Rujia Yang joined the Multilateral Diplomacy programme as a support for specail initiatives. Ruija is in her last year of a master program in the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Fudan University, Shanghai, China. She has studied in the University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong, China), University of Gothenburg (Sweden), Washington University in St. Louis (USA) for exchange programs. Her study focuses on the United Nations and dialogue among civilizations. She previously worked for Shanghai Media Group and International Finance Corporation. Her hobbies include table tennis, painting and traveling.

Nicolas Hochart joined the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme as a trainee in October 2013 as an intern. Nicolas is supporting the Core Diplomatic Training and assisting with some customized training as well. Nicolas is currently in his last year of master’s degree in International Relations at Catholic University of Lille, France. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Sciences from the Catholic University of Lille. He enjoys reading, music and going to the movies.

Andreas Holtberget joined the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme as a Trainee in October 2013. He is working with the Customized Training department, but also assists in Core Diplomatic Training activities. Andreas holds a Master’s in International History and Politics from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, as well as a Master’s in European Studies from the Catholic University in Leuven. Andreas completed his undergraduate studies in Oslo and as an exchange student in Veracruz, Mexico. He enjoys travelling, football and cooking.

Alice de La Rochefoucauld is a consultant at the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). She is in charge of High Level Panels, new partnerships and training activities. Prior to joining UNITAR, Alice worked for the French Institute for Higher National Defense Studies (Ministry of Defense) and was the French point of contact to the European Security and Defense College (ESDC). She also worked for the International Crisis Group, the European Parliament and the Centre for European Policy Studies.  Alice holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). She also received a Diploma in International Security and Cooperation from the Universidad Cumplutense de Madrid. .

Philippe Aubert joined the MDP Team as e-Learning Support but performs a wide variety of activities for the team. Philippe is a Swiss citizen from Lausanne. He graduated from the University of Lausanne and North Carolina State University (USA) in Political Science and is currently enrolled in a Masters in International Studies, specialized in International History and Politics at The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. As for the practical experience, he worked as an assistant for the economic and political affairs at the Embassy of Switzerland in Australia, and as a part-time teacher in Switzerland.
