2017 another record-breaking year

2017 was another record-breaking year with UNITAR’s overall number of beneficiaries reaching 56,897 individuals. While UNITAR experienced a peak 38 per cent increase in the number of individuals from 2015 to 2016, this number continued to increase but at a steadier 4 per cent rate.

Future support to Pakistani people needing humanitarian support will be improved, thanks to a new platform launched by the UK Government and UNITAR in Islamabad. The Pakistan Evidence and Learning Platform (PELP) aims to improve the humanitarian response in Pakistan through knowledge management, capacity building, and third-party monitoring.

UN CC:Learn Blog Shares Climate Change Learning Impact Stories

UN CC:Learn supports climate change training, education and public awareness-raising through collaborative efforts among of UN agencies and partners. It also supports countries in taking a strategic approach to climate change learning. These efforts are led with the main purpose of achieving results in transformational actions that will hopefully contribute to limiting temperature rise and reducing the vulnerabilities to climate change and its effects.

Roll-out of UNITAR-UNSD StaTact toolkit to help countries improve data-related governance for the SDGs

United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Regional Commissions and specialized agencies are rolling out in spring 2018 a new toolkit called StaTact to help countries improve data-related governance in support of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

FAO/UNITAR eCourse addresses "Trade, Food Security and Nutrition" in Europe and Central Asia

Ending hunger and all forms of malnutrition by 2030 is a key objective in the Sustainable Development Goals – and trade is one of the means for achieving it. With this in mind, FAO and UNITAR recently expanded its successful joint online course on "Trade, Food Security and Nutrition" with special focus in Europe and Central Asia. The course seeks to strengthen capacities in the post-soviet countries to develop and implement trade policies, taking into consideration their implications for food security and nutrition.

ZScore and UN CC:Learn Are Bringing Climate Change Education to Rio de Janeiro

The ZScore/UN CC:Learn climate change education project aims to raise awareness about climate change issues and relate them to the urban context. The first stage will be to receive an online certification on the UN CC:Learn Introductory e-Course on Climate Change.
