The Climate Change Negotiations and Health e-course has been updated ahead of COP28. The course unpacks the interlinkages between climate change and health and aims to answer important questions, such as the current state of climate change negotiations at the international level with regard to health, and how climate change is impacting human health.

27 November 2023, Durban, South Africa – In collaboration with CIFAL Durban, the eThekwini Municipal Academy (EMA) and its Municipal Institute of Learning (MILE), UNITAR is starting today a series of training workshops on “Management Practices for Safer Roads”. The series starts in Durban on 27 November, followed by Cape Town on 28 November, and Bloemfontein on 30 November.

27 November 2023, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR Division for Prosperity welcomed Ms Jaehyang (Jae) So to its Advisory Board, effective November 2023. Ms. So is the Chair of the Technical Committee of the Global Water Partnership, a global action network with over 3,000 partner organizations in 179 countries. She worked for 30 years at the World Bank Group on a range of development topics, including infrastructure, water, urban development, gender and public-private partnerships.

24 November 2023, Hiroshima, Japan - On 3 October 2023, UNITAR, in partnership with the University of Geneva, hosted a public forum “Scaling Responsible Entrepreneurship and Solutions to Global Challenges”. The forum was part of UNITAR’s 60th anniversary celebration and featured members of the UNITAR Division for Prosperity Advisory Board.
The event brought together individuals and organizations from all over the world to foster public-private partnerships to accelerate progress towards the SDGs.

24 November 2023, Hiroshima, Japan – Molly Faamanatu Nielsen is Assistant Chief Executive Officer at the Disaster Management Office of the Samoa National Emergency Management Office (NDMO), which is under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. In March 2023, Molly joined as a resource person for the 2023 UNITAR Hiroshima Women’s Leadership in Tsunami-based Disaster Risk Reduction Training Programme for World Tsunami Awareness Day.

20 November 2023, Geneva, Switzerland – UNITAR celebrated the 20th anniversary of the CIFAL Global Network (CGN) since its creation in 2003. Thirty CIFAL training centres gathered at the Palais des Nations in Geneva to celebrate two decades of building capacities in support of local sustainable development and to collectively define a roadmap for the upcoming years.

• He currently serves as a visiting professor of development and global health policy at Sophia University, University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Nagasaki University, and Kanazawa Institute of Technology.
