UNITAR provides training on a wide range of themes. Some themes can be described as “cross-cutting” as they are common to the work of most, if not all, of the Institute’s programmes.
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are important cross-cutting issues for investment, and socio-economic development. UNITAR promotes social responsibility through raising awareness activities, training opportunities and multi-stakeholder collaboration in support of sustainable development.
The Post-2015 Agenda will drive international development for the next decades. This new development framework covers cross-cutting issues such as gender, environmental sustainability, disability, indigenous peoples and disaster risk reduction and resilience. UNITAR provides training to members of delegations and other government officials with the aim to strengthen knowledge for evidence-based decision making in the formulation of the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda.
