PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The Autosobriety Training Programme is the result of a partnership between UNITAR and Pernod Ricard which consists of educational tools that aim to contribute to reducing and preventing alcohol-related traffic fatalities and injuries, and ultimately advance UN Global Road Safety Performance Target 9: By 2030 halve the number of road traffic injuries and fatalities related to drivers using alcohol.

PROGRAMME RATIONALE

It is estimated that 5-35% of all road deaths are reported as alcohol-related. Driving after drinking alcohol significantly increases the risk of a crash and the severity of that crash (WHO, 2018). In high-income countries, about 20% of fatally injured drivers have excess alcohol in their blood, while in some low-and-middle-income countries, these figures may be up to 69% Reducing risk factors that contribute to road crashes related to drinking and driving by addressing road users’ behaviors is critical to improving road safety. At the same time, significant progress can only be achieved through stronger national leadership, global cooperation, implementation of evidence-based strategies, and engagement with all relevant actors including the private sector. UNITAR has joined forces with various international key actors in a collaborative partnership to collectively advance Road Safety given the significant need for accelerated, innovative action to create change and the mutual commitment of both organizations.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

• Understand statistics and the impact of drinking and driving on people's lives.

• Identify drinking and driving as a key risk factor causing road traffic crashes amongst communities and stakeholders.

• Know more about legal frameworks around drinking and driving.

• Identify the different ways to prevent drinking and driving.

• Identify the effects of alcohol on driving performance by using virtual reality glasses.

CONTENT

The Autosobriety Training Program includes the following educational tools:

• An interactive online course available on the UNITAR Learning Platform.
• A microlearning course available on the EdApp platform, in the course library (category: UNITAR - "Road Safety").
• A Virtual Reality video available in 6 languages on the UNITAR Youtube platform.

PROGRAM SZKOLENIA KIEROWCÓW - ZAPOBIEGANIE PROWADZENIU POJAZDÓW POD WPŁYWEM ALKOHOLU

Składa się z narzędzi edukacyjnych mających na celu zmniejszenie liczby ofiar śmiertelnych oraz poszkodowanych w wypadkach drogowych spowodowanych przez kierowców pod wpływem alkoholu. Ma on na celu przyspieszenie osiągnięcia Globalnego Celu ONZ w zakresie Bezpieczeństwa Ruchu Drogowego #9 - aby do 2030r. zmniejszyć o połowę liczbę ofiar śmiertelnych i wypadkówdrogowych z udziałem osób będących pod wpływem alkoholu.

Program obejmuje:

• Interaktywny kurs online na wirtualnej platformie edukacyjnej UNITARu 
• Materiał video 360° - z wykorzystaniemgogli VR, dzięki któremu można doświadczyć jak alkohol wpływa na prowadzenie pojazdu
• Microlearningowy kurs edukacyjny
