5 June 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - Hosting 35 international organizations and more than 250 NGOs, Geneva offers itself a whole series of potentially formative experiences. The particularity of the city makes it one of the first poles of world governance where international commitments in favour of humanity are taken daily. Hence, getting immersed in this multilateral working environment represents a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of international cooperation.

The UNITAR-FuturED UN Immersion Experience is aimed at giving participants a full immersion into Geneva’s multilateral working environment and giving them the skills, they need to work more efficiently in a wide range of international organizations. Over the course of 1,5 days, participants will have the chance to dive into the principles enshrined in the UN Charter through guided tours, expert lectures, training workshops, cultural activities, and career development sessions. Direct exposure to policy practitioners and diplomatic settings will ensure that they gain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the principle of cooperation in a multilateral environment.

At the end of the immersion programme, participants should be able to:

  • Explain key components of the United Nations system and its agencies;
  • Familiarize oneself with International Geneva as a city of multilateralism;
  • Apply core skills and techniques of common diplomatic practice;
  • Develop critical knowledge for careers in international organizations.

The UNITAR-FuturED UN Immersion Experience is part of the “Education for Sustainability” International Experiential Programme organized by FuturED and the Global Education for Sustainability Foundation.
