27 July 2023, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office, in collaboration with the Office of the President of the General Assembly (OPGA) for the 77th session, successfully concluded the 2023 President of the General Assembly Fellowship Programme with a closing ceremony. The event aimed to celebrate the graduation of the fellows from the fellowship programme.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from Mr Marco Suazo, Head of UNITAR office in New York, who greeted distinguished guests, including H.E. Csaba Korosi, the PGA of the 77th UN General Assembly, H.E. Mr Dennis Francis, PGA-elect of the 78th UN General Assembly, Permanent Representatives, and the OPGA team. H.E. Mr Csaba Korosi delivered the opening remarks and extended his best wishes to the fellows for their future endeavours.

During the ceremony, the 2023 PGA Fellows shared their enriching experiences from the 8-month programme and expressed gratitude to UNITAR and the OPGA team. Following this, H.E. Mr Dennis Francis, PGA-elect of the 78th UN General Assembly, announced the extension of their fruitful collaboration with UNITAR New York Office for the continuation of the Fellowship in 2024.

After the distribution of certificates by H.E. Mr Csaba Korosi, a humble reception was held to celebrate the achievements of the fellows.

UNITAR and OPGA are thrilled to honour the 2023 cohort of the PGA Fellowship, which includes the following individuals: Ms Syuzanna Martirosyan of Armenia, Ms Aimé Triana Sevajanes of Cuba, Mr Mmoloki Tsheole of Botswana, Mr Amr Danyal Shamun of Maldives, Ms Nathalie Gasaro of Rwanda and Mr Gerard Tuii Anapu of Samoa.
