9 February 2023, Hiroshima, Japan – Francine-Blanche Mengue from Cameroon always had a passion for discovering people and cultures. She was therefore delighted to fulfil that passion with her participation in the UNITAR Youth and Anti-corruption Programme in Sahel Region in 2019. Not only did Francine-Blanche learn about the multidimensional problem of corruption, but she also gained the resources to be an actor of change – in her workplace and the broader fight against corruption in Cameroon.

30 January – 3 February 2023, New York, USA — The UNITAR office in New York has successfully concluded the second week of training for the PGA Fellowship. The training took place at the United Nations Secretariat building with two sessions per day, totaling 20 sessions within two weeks. Each session was led by high-level United Nations officials and experts, handpicked by UNITAR NYO for their expertise on each specific subject area.

23-25 January 2023, New York, USA - The series of training for the 2023 PGA Fellowship Programme started Monday, 23 January, with an Introduction to the Security Council and Principal Organs led by Dr Angel Angelov, Consul General to Bulgaria and Former Deputy Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations. To open the training sessions, Head of UNITAR Office in New York, Mr. Marco Suazo gave opening remarks to the fellows and introduced Dr Angelov before the session started.

17 January 2023, New York, USA – UNITAR office in New York kickstarts the 2023 PGA Fellowship Programme with a meeting between H.E. Mr Csaba Kőrösi, President of the 77th United Nations General Assembly, and this year’s fellows, who recently arrived in New York City to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience with the United Nations.

10 January 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - The XIX Annual Steering Committee Meeting of the CIFAL Global Network was successfully hosted by CIFAL Honolulu and Chaminade University. In 2022 the CIFAL Global Network reached over ninety-thousand beneficiaries through over 500 events.

09 January 2023, Geneva, Switzerland – A series of tailored training was delivered by UNOSAT experts in November and December 2022 in 3 countries of the Pacific: Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and Fiji. Building up on past activities, these sessions aimed to enhance GIS capacity for Climate Resilience.

23 December 2022, Hiroshima, Japan – On October 7, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) signed a collaboration and cooperation memorandum. The two institutions aim to strengthen their cooperation through development projects in entrepreneurship and digital technology

15 December 2022, New York City, U.S.A. – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research New York Office lead the annual Orientation Course of the Economic and Social Council for 2022-2023. The day-long training was held in a hybrid format, with majority of attendees joining in person in the ECOSOC Chamber at the United Nations Headquarters and more attendees connecting through Webex.
