12 December 2023, New York, USA – An evening of musical grandeur unfolded in the New York City landmark, Carnegie Hall, on December 11, 2023, as the United Nations Institute for Training and Research - New York Office (UNITAR-NYO), the President's Office of the 78th United Nations General Assembly, and Carnegie Hall partnered for an extraordinary concert. Titled "In Celebration of the Work of the 78th United Nations General Assembly and PGA H.E. Mr. Dennis Francis: A Concert For Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Sustainability - An Annual UN Family Reunion". Under the support of the member states Costa Rica, Ecuador, Singapore, Monaco, and Oman, the event is another successful demonstration of the unity between culture and diplomacy – especially during this complicated time.

7 December 2023, New York, USA – UNITAR-NYO and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade launched the Women in Cyber Fellowship: Strengthening Capacity Building and Technical Skills for the Open-Ended Working Group. The fellowship brought together women working professionally in a multitude of disciplines that have to do with Cyber issues. Attendees heard from fellow professionals on their experiences navigating international development roles in cyber as women and received comprehensive training on negotiations, capacity building, and international law. The two-day event prepared fellows for the Open-Ended Working Group which was set to take place the following week.

02 November 2023, New York, USA - On 31 October 2023, in a collaborative effort, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) recently partnered with the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Laws of the Sea (DOALOS) to host a groundbreaking briefing session that delved into critical aspects of international maritime law and the future of ocean governance. The event, led by Mr. Miguel De Serpa Soares, set the stage for a comprehensive exploration of key concepts and processes within the field.

24 October 2023, New York, USA- On 19 October 2023, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) joined forces with the Foreign Policy Association and WBB Securities along with the WBB Research Institute to host a pivotal panel discussion. Ambassador Marco Suazo, the head of UNITAR's New York office, set the stage with his welcoming remarks, emphasizing the paramount importance of the event.
Following Ambassador Suazo, Mr. Noel Lateef, the President, and CEO of the Foreign Policy Association, delved into the organization's rich history. He underscored how the FPA was established in the aftermath of the First World War, coinciding with the devastating influenza pandemic of the same era, which significantly impacted global foreign policies.

18 October 2023, New York, USA – On 11 October 2023, to foster a deeper understanding of the United Nations’ core functions, the UNITAR New York Office, in collaboration with the Hospitality Committee for UN Delegations, recently organized the Knowledge to Lead Workshops. The Permanent Mission of the Principality of Monaco supported the initiative by hosting the event in their conference room. These workshops were specifically tailored for diplomat’s spouses, and aimed to shed light on the intricacies of the Security Council and the 78th General Assembly Session.

29 September 2023, New York, USA – On 11-15 September 2023, The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar, developed the Briefing for new delegates on the 78th Session of the General Assembly and Main Committees for the first two days of the programme. In this two-day briefing, new delegates will have the chance to learn from experienced officials of the General Assembly and the various departments it encompasses. For the three remaining days of the programme, delegates attended another programme entitled "Enhancing Competencies in Multilateral Diplomacy: Orientation Programme for Qatari Delegation".
